Mandated Reporter

Mandated reporters are certain adults, who are legally required to report suspected child abuse if they have reasonable cause to suspect that a child is a victim of child abuse.

PA Department of Human Services

The Child Protective Services Law of Pennsylvania requires that adults whose professional or volunteer work places them in routine interactions with children complete Mandated Reporter Training. The training is three hours and is a detailed study of the Child Protective Services Law, ways to recognize abuse, and how to report abuse. The Crime Victims’ Center has staff who are certified through the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) to provide Mandated Reporter training, both to community members and for licensure. If you or your organization are in need of Mandated Reporter Training, you can contact our office at 724.438.1470 or complete this form.
